Hey Austin, if you're a regular on Loop 360 near the RM 2222 intersection or hanging around the Courtyard area, fair warning — things are about to get a whole lot more frustrating behind the wheel, and they're going to stay that way for a while.
Construction is coming to that stretch of 360, and we're not talking a quick few-month patch job. We're talking years, folks. Yeah, plural. So if you've been mentally mapping out your commute or your weekend coffee run, it might be time to start thinking about some alternate routes — or at least stocking up on patience and a good podcast queue.
The 360 corridor has long been one of those classic Austin pain points — beautiful drive, sure, but it doesn't take much to turn it into a parking lot. Add a multi-year construction project to the mix and you've basically got a recipe for some seriously grumpy morning commutes.
Details on exactly what's being built or improved are still filtering through, but the bottom line is that this part of northwest Austin is going to look a lot different — and feel a lot slower to get through — for the foreseeable future.
If you live, work, or just frequently find yourself on that stretch between 2222 and the Courtyard area, now's a good time to get friendly with your navigation app and explore what else the grid has to offer. MoPac, Spicewood Springs, City Park Road — they're all about to have some new best friends.
